Video surveillance in the Moscow metro will be improved
The video surveillance system at Moscow metro stations will be significantly improved. As it became known, it is planned to carry out all the work in several stages. So, in 2016, the total number of video cameras will be increased by about 5,000. This way, there will be no "blind spots" or poorly visible areas. The consoles of the station attendants, whose duties include watching videos from all cameras, will also undergo modernization.
The second stage of the measures involves the organization of an automatic face recognition system. She will scan those present in order to identify people who have been previously entered into her database. One of the goals of the innovation is the timely detection of unwanted persons entering the station, for example, those who are on the federal wanted list.
Improving the video surveillance system in the subway contributes to the safety of its employees and ordinary citizens who use it on a daily basis.
