In the USA, the program for connecting to urban video surveillance has been updated

In the United States, there is a Green Light program, under which it is possible to connect to city surveillance cameras. When it was launched, several goals were pursued at once, some of which have already been achieved. It is reported that a program has been updated in Detroit to connect commercial structures to city surveillance. Companies get the opportunity to install cameras on preferential terms (at low prices). The police, in turn, have the right to connect to them. Thus, it is possible to solve several issues at once.:
- To ensure the safety of enterprises;
- To help save money on the installation of surveillance;
- Increase the chances of solving crimes and the speed of response to emergencies.
According to the head of Detroit, Mike Duggan, previously the installation cost was about 4-6 thousand dollars. This amount was unaffordable for small organizations that found it unprofitable to pay so much to a local Internet provider. Now installation will cost only about $1,000 with subsequent monthly maintenance fees. Their size is 140 dollars. The service also includes storing archived data for a month, which is useful for police officers and the owners of the organization itself.
