Installation of video surveillance systems is being completed in the forests of the Moscow region

According to the press service of Dmitry Pestov, deputy representative of the regional government, by July 1, all forests in the Moscow region will be monitored using surveillance cameras. If about 60 tracking devices are currently deployed in key positions, their number will be increased by 25 units by July 1.

At the moment, only three quarters of the forests are under control, which is not enough to prevent incidents, including fires, in a timely manner. By the middle of summer, coverage will be complete, and it will be possible to monitor the occurrence of fires in a timely manner by sending formed rapid response teams to a given area. There are over 90,000 people in such units who are ready to assist in extinguishing an open fire.

In addition to video cameras, the situation in the forests of the Moscow region is monitored using ground patrols, aerial and satellite reconnaissance. Such multi-level monitoring makes it possible not to miss the moment of a major fire. Timely extinguishing will help to avoid casualties among the population, destruction of forests and various wildlife.

Before the onset of a new fire-hazardous period, a control check of equipment and training of personnel of rapid response teams takes place.
