Kaspersky Lab has announced the vulnerability of road IP cameras

According to security system development professionals, hacking a traffic network camera is not something special for a specialist. The fact is that they are not protected by passwords familiar to home or corporate systems. All that is required is to find out the address of the equipment on the network, and this task is not impossible.
It is noteworthy that the authorities often facilitate the work of intruders themselves. Camera data is publicly available, a hacker can easily find out exactly where it is installed and which area it controls. Hacking the equipment allows you to disable it completely, intercept information intended for the authorities, and deactivate the speeding response function. In most cases, such actions are hooliganism and have no practical benefit for the hacker himself.
The statement of representatives of Kaspersky Lab should force authorized persons to take measures to secure the funds entrusted to their competence. Monitoring the information received on the network and creating a password system will complicate hacking and prevent anyone from taking control of a system of national importance.
