Schools are among the places where it is especially important to control everyone entering and leaving the territory. At the moment, in most cases, monitoring is carried out by 1 employee. However, a video surveillance system with face recognition function will soon be launched in Moscow schools in a test mode. Information about this was received from the head of the Moscow Department of Information Technology, Artyom Ermolaev.

According to the head of the department, such changes should be made to increase the effectiveness of control over facilities. No one disputes the importance of protecting children and adolescents, so experts have high hopes for the test results.

The launch is planned in the fall of 2018. If the performance of the new system is deemed sufficient for its widespread launch in educational institutions, the gradual installation of video surveillance in other schools in Moscow and other Russian cities will begin. The interim results of the experiment will be announced in the coming months.
