The list of video cameras in public places of Moscow is published

The open data portal has published a list of tracking devices located on house territories, on streets, in parks, squares and other public places. The list includes over 2,000 cameras that any citizen can connect to. They are broadcast around the clock or according to a schedule. The decision to publish the list is dictated by the following considerations:

  • It is necessary to reduce the likelihood of illegal actions on the streets of the capital;

  • access to the camera will allow the victim to use videos from them as evidence when contacting the police.

The information is stored on the media for 5 days. To prevent it from being lost, you should personally contact the number indicated on the portal and inform about the value of a particular segment of the video. Having evidence of what happened in your hands, you will be able to defend your case, as well as identify the violator in a short time (if the person's face, his special signs or the car number are in the frame). The number of tracking devices on the streets of Moscow is growing annually. These are both private equipment and systems owned by government organizations. The majority of video cameras are concentrated in the area of residential buildings and other public places.
