Moscow has become one of the leaders in the number of video surveillance cameras

Tracking devices in the modern world are often located not only on the territory of private facilities or state-owned enterprises. The streets of cities are gradually filling up with them. PwC conducted research, according to which Moscow was declared the second largest city in the world in terms of the ratio of cameras to the population of the metropolis. The study was conducted among the largest cities in the world, so the Russian capital rightfully became one of the leaders of the rating.

New York, Berlin, Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo, London and others are among the megacities that took part in the study. The population, as well as the availability of video surveillance cameras in these cities, is growing year by year. But the same phenomenon is observed in Moscow, so there is no reason to believe that she will give up her position to someone.

London became the absolute leader of this rating, with over 12 surveillance cameras for every thousand people. For comparison, in Moscow, this value was 11.63 cameras. Other cities lag behind by a wide margin – by 2 or more times. Based on the announced results, we can confidently talk about an increase in understanding of the meaning of video surveillance in society.
