LTE for remote video surveillance

TELECOM SB specialists conducted tests of LTE technology for data transmission when organizing remote monitoring of video surveillance systems.

The new LTE network of the Yota provider, which replaced the WiMax network, has proven itself to be of the highest quality.

• The delay time has been reduced to 20 ms.
• The average connection speed was 5-6 Mbps, and it reached 10-11 Mbps during peak periods.
• The video stream with audio was transmitted without distortion or interruptions (video from 10 color video cameras with a maximum resolution of 704x576 and a total frame rate of 200 fps).

The tests were conducted in Korolyov, Moscow Region.

An LTE modem and a 2.5 - 2.7 GHz dual-polarization directional MIMO antenna were used.
