Roselectronika Holding Introduces New Surveillance System

Employees of the Russian company Rostec introduced a new video surveillance system. Main purpose: implementation in public transport in order to control what is happening inside. Equipment Feature: it is possible to scan unique biometric data of passengers. Thus, it will be possible to determine if one of those in the cabin is wanted.

Unlike analogs, the new system is able to work in conditions of shaking, low light, and turning the head. Even if only a part of the face is visible, the software component of the system will process the data and compare it with the existing database. The whole procedure takes several seconds. During the trip, each of the passengers will be evaluated for danger to others.

Access to the database will be available only to law enforcement officials. As the matter takes place in a public place, no violation of the privacy of personal life will occur.

Additionally, the equipment will help optimize the flow of urban traffic. Representatives of the relevant services are counting on this. At the moment, the system is being tested in several settlements. In case of successful passing of practical tests, it will be taken “into service” in other regions.
