Details of the hacking of the KrebsOnSecurity website are known

Hackers had previously hacked the website of a well-known security expert abroad, KrebsOnSecurity. Now the source code (program text) of the application with which this was done has appeared on the Internet. It is noteworthy that typical IP cameras with weak protection are used as robots to disrupt the operation of systems. The program hacks their other elements video surveillance networks, after which they launch a massive attack on the selected server. The simultaneous arrival of a huge array of unstructured data overloads the channels, which forces the temporary suspension of the site or service.
The appearance of the source code on the Internet suggests that law enforcement agencies are "on the trail" of criminals. Publishing this kind of data is a common ploy to help waive copyrights for development. In the future, the hacker is able to report that he was just using someone else's program and did not understand what this would lead to.
The opinion described above is shared by the owner of the website hacked by criminals. Brian Krebs is involved in cybersecurity himself and publishes research results in this area on his blog. Naturally, he could not remain without the attention of those against whom they are being waged.
